Article on: Momo Shifter Modification

Tools needed:
Small wire cutters
Screwdriver
Lighter

This is somewhat of an advance mod, since it is pretty easy to mess it up and having to order new parts. First, start by removing your shift knob and shifter surround panel by pulling it up. This is what the panel looks like from the bottom. There are 6 little plastic lock washers that hold the shifter boot ring in place.

Carefully remove them by pushing them up with a pair of small wire cutters or nail clippers. Be careful not to snap the plastic pin.

After you remove all 6 washers, the boot ring will come off.

Gently pull the boot and it will come off the ring. It is simply glued onto it.

Put your new boot in place and align it. Then put the ring on and mark and punch the holes for the pins to come through. After that push the ring onto the pins, put the washers back on. To be safe, I chose to light the pins on fire and melt them flat with a screwdriver so that the washers won't come off. Make sure to wait until the pins harden before releasing the ring to stay on its own. Be careful not to melt the pics too much.

Lastly, reassemble everything back and enjoy your new awesome looking boot
