Article on: STI headlights level switch install

All the electronics you need to make the lights go "up/ and down" are inside the lights. no need for such thing as a "Black box".

you will need the level switch also.
tools: 10mm
wire cutters
radio shack 6 wire connector, male and female
6 diferent color wires , red,black,blue,green,orange,brown
soldering gun.
wire loom

step 1: have the sti head light on hand, cut the plug from the level motor , install the 6 pin connector "male".
do this on both lights

step 2: get enough wire to go from the right side head light to the left, on the right headlight connect the " 6 pin connector" to the end of the wires .., on the other side "driver side headlight,
get enough wire to go across the firewall, put the ends together
on the same oder on the same 6"pin connectors"

after having all the wires on the engine bay and having the head lights back in place . go under the dash take the kick panel out.

with the wires under the dash look for a good ignition power sourse"12V"
and a ground.

time to do some soldering. take the switch. open it " Be carefull with the little spring inside the switch"

you are gonna find 4 positions tabs on the board inside the switch, and a main one on the center
solder the wires on each one of the position tabs follow the pic

try to make a little hole on the side of the level switch to pass the wires.

cut the side and have the 4 wires about 4-6 in. inches long.

connect the 4 wires from the switch to the wires from the headlights..

now from the same power wire that you use for the headlight ignition 12V run another wire to the switch and plug it in the 3rdpin.

2nd and 1st pin are dashboard lights. 2nd is the dashboard light power and the 1st is ground .

ok after connecting the switch and giving the switch power try going through the levels 0 to 4 and see if the lights move

have the car running, and the lights on!

well i hope you have fun. with this mod i love it!
