Article on: Clear Lights

Ok I am taking no responsibility for this mod. It may be illegal in your state but I doubt it.

1.) Open your hood.

2.) Remove the front grille by popping out the clips on the top and bottom of it.

3.) Remove the bolts that hold the headlight in place.

4.) Disconnect the (2) wiring harnesses from behind each light and pull the lights off the car.

This is the clip for the bottom of the grille section. It is on the same spot on the other side. Just push it down with a screwdriver.

TOOLS:

(1) Hair Dryer or Heat Gun
(1) phillips head screw driver
(1) Blade screwdriver or Exacto Knift

OK, remove the (2) screws from the back side of the head light. Then start heating up the outside rim of the headlights, this will take a while but it's worth it.

With the blade screwdriver start prying the light apart, You can easily see the line where the two pieces are separated. It helps to push the plastic clips inwards to help separate them. The exacto knife saves a lot of time. Use it to cut the black sealant. This process takes a little bit of time and patience.

DO NOT RUSH!!! DO NOT CRACK YOUR HEADLIGHTS!!!

Once you have the headlights in two pieces there is another screw holding the reflector piece to the rest of the headlight.

You will now have three pieces of headlight.

Remove the Orange Light Diffusor and the little yellow light diffusor off of the reflector piece.

Replace the screw into the reflector and get ready to reassemble.

Reapply any of the black sealant you were able to salvage and begin to re-heat the outer casing of the light. The light can only go together one way due to it's shape so don't worry.

Get everything together nice and tight and make sure the clips are all in, this should prevent all moisture build up. You can also apply some sealant of your own if you butchered the black stuff or if you're anal.

Put the light modules back in the car, screw them back in. Reattach the light modules.

Reapply the grille by popping in the bottom part first then the top part. Check out the lights and blinkers to make sure you didn't blow anything out and your set.

You can also replace the turn signal bulbs with orange ones or paint your stock bulbs orange if you are really worried.
