Keith's MY97 Subaru Impreza V3 UK Turbo

How long has the car been owned by you?

I have had the car now for two years.

How was the car sourced?

I went about getting insurance for the car 6 months before I originally bought it as DUFFMAN was selling it to fund a new Impreza he was buying, but as I couldn’t get insurance it got sold to a ex member. Six months later the car went up for sale again as the owner had to sell as he was moving back to South Africa, so I went about insurance again and to my joy I got it. So off to the bank I went and got a loan to pay for the car and to make myself the happy owner of the car I wanted so much earlier in the year.

What makes your car so ‘special’ to you?

The things in which it makes it so special to me is, every time I look out in the morning or come home from work I do just smile to myself and happy that its my car and not someone else‘s. When I do be driving it I do be just gob smacked from the different noises a Scooby has, once modded a small bit. But I think the most thing what makes it special is when people come up to me and tell me how much of a nice car I have and that makes me feel like I have achieved what I set out to do.

What does club membership mean to you?

I have been in the club for two years now and I have loved every minute of it. There is never a dull moment and the knowledge you get from the members is never ending which is very hard to find. I also got a chance to join the committee last year which I was very happy to be given the chance to do, from doing car features for members to organising events has been some of my happiest times in the club to date.

What changes are you going to make to your car?

I had up to now done everything I ever wished to the car but lately I have been having head gasket problems. So plan is next week to get a 2.1 stroker kit fitted while the head gaskets are getting done and then see from there what will be next, performance wise. Other than that I have a 22b style grill, HID kit and another few bits sitting in the house to be fitted. I also plan to fit a roof hatch and then its all suspension work from there with the likes of front and rear anti roll bars and coilovers.

When, if at all, will you replace your car?

I can never see myself letting this car go as I have put my heart and soul into it the last two years.

Is there anyone you would like to thank for this project?

Were do I start. I would like to thank everyone in the club who has helped me out with this project, whether it was for parts or just knowledge and guidance, thank you lads. But for the biggest thanks has to go to Jonnie (DUFFMAN) and JP (JPtypeRA) who have been there always to dig me out of a hole from working in Jonnie’s garage to 4 in the morning, to doing oil changes in the dark, thanks lads, you are both a credit to the club and both very good mates. Also a big thanks to Dave at Stituning for the work and mapping done on my car and for putting me in the right direction with mods and last but not forgotten my better half. She puts up with the biggest amount of car talk a girl could handle but loves it really deep down.
