Lurgan Park Rally Meet - 11th August 2007

Great day lads, pity about the weather... anyways some pics of the day...

ISDC Barbeque - Rathbeggan Lakes, Co. Meath - 29th July 2007

The weather was great and after the poor summer we've had to date, we could not of asked for better. The location was excellent (big thanks to JohnM) with loads for the kids to do including a "Scooby Doo" bouncing castle, archery and fishing.

Of course the delicious barbeque, cooked to perfection by our very own celebrity chef, Damien Kelly, went down
a treat... with loads for everyone to eat.

It was great to see a good turn out and thanks to all who turned up and enjoyed the day. And a BIG, BIG thanks to Damien, Dave and the committee for organizing another great event !!!

Waterford Meet - Sunday 24th June 2007

Well the turn out for this event, which, in effect was 'only' a meet, a spin along the coast and a bite to eat, was truly exceptional! Proof, if we ever needed it, that the ISDC is going from strength to strength and that members are more than willing to travel the lengths of the country for a Subaru gathering. I think the final count was 49 Imprezas and Legacys in total and the sight (let alone the noise) of the convoy going through Dunmore was very impressive.

Another great day out for the ISDC!

Thanks to Johnny, Eric and Axel for providing the following pictures

Scooby ShootOut (UK) - Sunday 27th May 2007

Well lads, what a great weekend!

I'm absolutely shattered now :)

Pity about the weather, but the drive to and from Holyhead was class (well apart from nearly appearing on Police, Camera, Action) but the less said about that the better :) Plus there was the 'slapping' incident - but what goes on at a trip stays on the trip so we'll say no more about that either ;)

All in all it was a very enjoyable weekend with a great bunch of lads/lassies thumb

And well done to Dave Leggy - 12.6 secs on the quarter mile!

ISDC Meet and Drive - Midleton, Co. Cork - Sunday 20th May 2007

Great day lads, the weather was fantastic, as it always is down in Cork ;)

We had a good turnout of 22 cars for the event and it was great to see some of the lads/ girls from Dublin & Waterford make the trip. The event itself pulled a good crowd and was well organised - probably a bit smaller than what we are normally used to though, and if "King of the Ring" wasn't your thing, well that was it. That said it was great to see all the Scoobies lined up and to meet some new faces.

Beside's the 3 - 4 new members that turned up for this event we also got 3 NEW paid up members on the day, so all in all it was a good day for the club and a BIG THANKS to everyone who made the effort to travel.

Of course some of the more senior members got tired:D and wanted to go home, so we brought them for a quick blast over to Ballycotton lighthouse, with plenty of fresh sea air to shake some life in to them hahaha :) I kinda brought us to a dead end (oops) and errmm... sort of spoke to some locals, before Rob stepped in and kindly directed us over to Garryvoe beach... which was an ideal location!

Paintballing/Scooby vs Evo Meet - Sunday 15th April 2007

Lads, it was a great day and thanks to all who turned up.

The paintballing was excellent even though it was a little on the pricey side, but as Eric said, definitely one to keep on the Calender of Events.

Im happy to report, once again that Subarus kicked Evo ass... well the 2 or 3 that turned up, that is!!! It must of been the flat four rumble approaching at mach 4 that scared the crap out of them :)

ps. BIG THANKS to Eric for organizing this event.

Drive to Monaghan - Monday 9th April 2007 - In support of a young paraplegic Scooby Enthusiast

Fair play to all that showed for the spin up to Monaghan, I did not expect too many, but there was a great turn out.

Most of the guys met up at Swords and then took a spin off to Castleblaney, where we had a slight stop over for some pics and a chat. Then it was off to meet the family who invited us up - that was some reception we got! The family seemed really happy and were really pleasant... Anyways after a few of the lads took some onlookers out for a quick rip up the road :D we decided to head back into Castleblaney and have a feed... and that was our day.

Once again fair play to all that came along...

ISDC / Scoobynet - Newry Meet - Saturday 31st March 2007

Well lads, i think that everybody who showed up will a agree that it was a really good day!

Now, i dont know why i called this the 'ISDC / Scoobynet' meet, as nobody from Scoobynet actually showed up!! Four lads in some lovely Imprezas did however. From where we all first met in Airside, it didn't look like there was going to be many of us, just about 7 - 8 cars if I remember right. We decided to get going as we couldn't get in contact with Dave (who was either very early or very late). Sure enough the short sprint between the roundabouts was a good laugh, Johnny getting to test out his new motor and close ratio gearbox :)

When we got onto the M1, sure enough, I lagged slightly (just slightly) behind, then at about 70mph my bonnet popped open!! Luckily, just onto the latch, so i had to pull over. Niall rang me to see what the story was and he said he would try get in contact with Dave to see where he was, he was only ten mins behind so we pulled in for him and JohnM who also joined the convoy. We got to Newry in no time and arrived at the B&Q, but where was the Scoobynet crew????

Anyway, despite that we had a great park up and a good banter session. After that we sorted out a bit of a drive, out to Warrenpoint and a drive along the coast... a great view, which made looking at the road quite i problem! We ended up in some town (can't remember the name of it) in a small car park, with a few scary front splitter moments from some of us as we went in! The other lads went ahead towards Newcastle so we decided we might as well go with them. It was a good drive out there too, some nice roads up there to drive along. We arrived at a car park, complete with white T.T.E Corolla boys, for another banter session, across the road was the Northern Irish version of the Southern Spire!

After that it was on home (or to the Sportsmans Inn to see what everyone was up too) through some more interesting roads, pity a lot of us were held up by 'white van man'... am i right Robby? :D

All in all i have admit that it was a great day's driving, I covered nearly 250 miles! Now roll on the paintballing! :D

Norris!

Midlands Karting - Saturday 3rd March 2007

Egdeworthstown, just outside Longford was the location. A great course tucked away at the edge of a forest - proving to be quiet a difficult track...........but loads of fun. We were quite lucky - the weather was great, as we arrived the track was wet and greasy but it soon dried up allowing for fast cornering and some top speeds... of nearly 30 mph!!!!!!!!!

Anton stole the show with a class performance and a well deserved first place, Norris coming in second and clearly following in his father's footsteps, setting a consistent pace throughout the gruelling "endurance race" and Carlo arriving just off the mark in 3rd place showing that brute force (get outa me bleedn way or i'll fooken kill ya) can always get results :D

A great day and thanks to all who turned up.

ISDC Annual General Meeting: Sunday 28th January - Portlaoise

The 2007 AGM of the Irish Subaru Drivers Club took place on Sunday 28th January 2007 at the Comfort Inn Hotel, Portlaoise, Co Laois.

A new chairman and vice-chairman were announced as Alan Sherratt and John McGloin respectively - well done for taking up the reigns lads! 'Business' matters went well and I think generally the AGM was a resounding success, with members happy with the club's continued progress. Issues that were raised were and will be dealt with in time.

Thanks to the excellent facilities at the Comfort Inn - we might make this a regular meeting place... check out the pics :)

Clare Motor Club Open Day - January 7th 2007

Lads this was the first Event of 2007 and i know it was too short a notice for most members - unfortunately we only found out about this event at the start of last week. All the same, we had 10 cars on display and the event itself was pretty good.

There was Some great cars form all sections of motorsport, Classic to WRC to hill climbs and a large crowd turned out to see Charlie Donnelly open the show. Thanks to all who turned up!
